Just got off the phone with ALIGHT SOLUTIONS (Avaya Pension Svc Ctr), 1-800 868-6236, regarding missing 2021 W-2 for Group Life Insurance. When you call, choose the pension prompt and will ask you for a pin, which we don't have and then the automated system will send a text with a pin. The problem seems to be that if you moved to a new address their system sent the W-2 to the old address on file. The agents at ALIGHT do not have the ability to change to your new address but will open a case and provide you with a Ticket number. So when you call, request a replacement W-2 for 2021 and a change of address for future mailings. I was given an appx. 4 week time frame for resolution, so the option is to file IRS 1040 without the W-2 and let the IRS catch it or file for a 1040 tax filing extension, (August 15), until the replacement W-2 is received.
I see this as a growing problem as some and more Avaya retirees gradually change their address at some point, thus advised the Alight agent to suggest to their management that the agents can change to a new address real time and avoid the one month Ticket process.
