Well, I finally got my refund with the HCTC in it.
I filed in April. In July I received a letter from the IRS requesting (demanding) more information. They wanted proof that I paid the insurance premium and some other bullshit.
I copied all 12 months of credit card statements, circled the payments to the insurance company. I also sent them proof that I was receiving payments from the PBGC and the announcement that PBGC posted when they announced they were taking over the pension.
Received the check today (August 6th) and it was for a few more dollars than what our 1040 form said we would get. I am thinking they might have paid a couple of dollars in interest.
I sure hope the HCTC is extended beyond this year.
